Columbia Bracket

This is a genuine Flown Structural Support Bracket from the Columbia Space Shuttle Orbiter. It was originally purchased at a NASA kennedy Space Center Auction back in the 1990's.

This artifact was removed from the OV-102 Space Shuttle and inspected by NASA/KSC technicians on September 17, 1986.

The tag reads:

The dimensions are about 2.25 inches by 1.6 inches.

This unit is made from an aerospace grade high strength aluminum alloy.

This bracket most likely flew aboard STS-61-C which launched on January 12, 1986 and returned to earth on January 18, 1986.
