Station 60 -- Langdon Fire
 

Firefighter Application

Station 60 typically recruits 2 or 3 new members each year.

All protection equipment, training, radio, and uniform is supplied free of charge.

The Fire Hall is unmanned. When an emergency call is received, members are paged
to respond to the hall and then respond in fire apparatus. Members are not allowed
to arrive in personal vehicles

New recruits must complete the following courses prior to responding to calls:
Fulfilling firefighting duties is hard, strenuous, dirty work, but is also very rewarding.
Applicants should be in excellent general health. Members must be bondable and have a
clean driver abstract. All members must live within 5 miles of the Fire Hall.
Consideration will also be given to applicants who work near Langdon and who can respond
during daytime hours.

Application forms are available at the Municipal District of Rocky View Office
(911 - 32 Avenue NE, Calgary, Alberta) or can be downloaded here. Completed
applications can be dropped off at the fire hall on every first and third Thursday
of the month at 19:00h (7pm).

Prior fire or medical experience, or, availability during 7am and 6pm are assets.

There are also non-firefighting, administrative positions available.
